The Town and Country Garden Club of East Palestine Inc.
Since its inception, the Town & Country Garden Club of East Palestine has been upholding its motto to “Beautify the Village.” It’s long history originates with the 2006 merger of two local organizations – The East Palestine Garden Club, which took root in 1930, and the Town and Country Garden Club, established in 1959. Today its 25 club members tend to the planters, trees and flowers located around the village, including the park, library and post office. The club’s leader is President Darlene Exposito, who hopes to encourage younger gardening enthusiasts to join.

When strolling through downtown, you’ll notice 24 large flower planters watered and maintained by the club. Three devoted members take care of the triangle green off State Route 14 entering East Palestine. They also sponsor a number of other community activities and fundraisers. They award a “Yard of the Month” from June through October, encouraging residents to keep their yard looking its best. Fundraisers include the Meat Raffle and a yearly Mother’s Day plant sale to help fund the upkeep of the village’s greenery. The annual Christmas Home Tours is the biggest event of the year for the club and will take place November 8-9. It showcases beautifully decorated homes and is a popular village tradition. Be sure to mark your calendars.
Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday, at the First Christian Church at 6:00 p.m. If you are interested in gardening and community involvement send an email to eptcgardenclub@gmail.com.
