EP Rotary Soccer Program Fun for All
Since the 80s, generations of kids have enjoyed participating in the Village of East Palestine’s Rotary Soccer Program. This past season, more than 200 children from East Palestine and the surrounding area, ages pre-K through 8th grade, participated. Each of the age brackets typically have at least three teams, with a total of 13 teams this year. The teams play each other and it’s all about having fun, learning the game and good sportsmanship.
Registration starts in June or July and the season runs September through October. The fee is $25, which covers uniforms and required insurance coverage. All the funds raised goes back into the program, and last year they were able to purchase all new equipment for the teams. Any extra is given back to the community in different regards. Typically, the games are held at East Palestine Community Park, but with the ongoing construction this year, the location was moved to the property of the Powers family, who generously allowed the teams access to their polo field.
